Inktober 2020

Hello my blogger friends,
This year has been a toughie with everything that has been going on with covid and lockdown, so to keep myself occupied I have been exploring myself creatively by taking part in Inktober. My brother Harry suggested I did it with him and I found it fun and motivational to push myself to complete a drawing/sketch a day.

We did this activity together pushing each other to do a sketch a day, to keep your mind at bay.

Inktober: This is where there is a word given for each day of October and you can be as creative as you want producing big or small sketches or drawings expressing your interpretation of that word.

So here are my interpretations, hope you enjoy and maybe inspire you to join the craze of Inktober for the following years to come!

Im Back...

Hello my blogger friends and curious folk, I do apolgise for being away for such a long time and not keeping up to speed with my blog but as you know life takes control and I have been working hard finding a career I enjoy that helps pay to survive and enjoying spending time with my lovely family.

I will have you know I am very happy with my job working with children is just inspirational, fun, very challenging but very over whelming, every day is a breath of fresh air.

So here I am, I'm back and so much has Changed. Im now 26 we are in 2019, I went on an amazing adventure to Rome last year and unexpectedly got Engaged! This year I aim to read more, draw more, paint more, be more optimistic, to use lots of buttons, Smile and pass it on and to aspire to reach new achievements especially throughout Illustration :)

I will be researching a variety of elements and artists exploring life at a different angle.... Imagine using a leaf and water to paint with....Mark making with unusual materials...What do animals/pets think? What would happen if we lived our lives upside down?..... What if earth is really small in the solar system that Giants control and play with us like puppets.... Why can't dinosaurs live in our pocket... Imagine if you had the power to be a fly on the wall and be a spy or shrink so small you see things from a different perspective.

I would like to at least touch on one of these random ideas I have and bring it to life throughout the use of my amusing imagination ;)

SO WATCH THIS SPACE... ...

'Daylight to Night' Brief!

My current project I am working on is to create 3 large canvasses based on an surreal exploration which my client wishes to hang on the wall in her home. It is important I do lots of research and experimental work for me to achieve the best of my abilities for my clients tastes.
The theme I am working on is daylight transforming into night, which may sound easy in itself but is not as I am blending different features to one another to create in a way, 'like an illusion'.
I will be painting all my compositions onto the canvases.

I will start by researching features that have been discussed such as autumn leaves dropping and floating in the sky which then turn into beautiful butterflies as they fly higher into the sky then turn into twinkling stars.

So here are a few images I have been looking at;

Autumn Leaves

Exploring the different shapes and sizes of the leaves

Autumn Butterflies

Stars

I will now from researching these features, create some of my own compositions which I will show later on, with my own ideas and reflection.

Childcare Course!

Today I am starting a 6 week Plato Training UK Childcare course at the Beckwith House in Stockport. This is to improve my knowledge and understanding as well as experience with working with children. At the end of this course I will achieve my:
BTEC Level 1 in Caring for children
BTEC Level 1 in Customer Service
Level 1 Work Skills
And will have basic training in Emergency First Aid

Having these qualifications will improve my CV especially as these units include; understanding roles within childcare, protection and safeguarding, communication, activities with children, respecting children and teamwork. Having more experience in all these aspects will help me more, in looking for a secure job at the moment so I can do what I love best, in wanting to create illustrative story books for young children.I am also looking forward in making new friends. I am very excited!
