Narrative Task

Initial task: choose one of your favourite movie's- one that utilises cinematic devices and is innovative in terms of pace, frame, viewpoint, lighting ect.

Freeze frame part of the film and draw/ sketch 18 sequential frames from it.

I have to think about what the mood and atmosphere is like in these pictures and how it corresponds with the story in the film.

I find this task very intriguing and enticing, as I have lots of favourite movie's to choose from.

Its such a hard choice, but I am going to choose the famous emotional film the 'Titanic' its such a classic and the movie features true events that have happened in real life.

I chose the Titanic as my favourite movie because not only is most of the story known to true life but it is also a part of a romantic love story between Jack Dawes a third class passenger and Rose Dewitt Bukater, a first class passenger. 

Also this film has a very special significant meaning to me as this is the last film my Mum saw with my Grandma in the cinema before she past away! 

Titanic is a 1997 American epic romantic disaster film directed, written, co-produced, and co-edited by James Cameron. A fictionalized account of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage. Sadly ending where the couple are caught up in the terrible chaotic chaos throughout the Titanic ship crashing into an iceberg and sinking, there love growing stronger every second, however they both survive the terrible sinking of the ship, they are both just waiting in the freezing cold water hoping someone would come to there rescue. Upsettingly Jack Dawes just couldn't take the frost throughout the waves any longer, but throughout his dying hour he demanded in his frosty frozen breath that Rose stays alive and succeeds to do all the adventures she has wanted to do and to fall in love again and have children, if he doesn't make it. Jack with his voice slipping away closed his eyes and after a while it was then when Rose realised that a small boat had come back for any survivors in the sea and tried to wake Jack up but sadly/crushingly Jack had passed away.

One of the reasons the ‘titanic ‘film reeled me in was not just the difference between social classes which I found very intriguing but the different styles of fashion between all the characters its Amazing I especially love the style of Hair and clothing the first class passengers wear the women’s dresses are so elegant and sophisticated and there make-up, it makes me think why cant we wear dresses like that today there gorgeous. I also love the different styles of hair the women look so beautiful.

Here is the video of the Titanic so you get the full feel of the story and the atmosphere. I love the music at the beginning of the sequence its so moving.

However try and ignore the French subtitles sorry about that! This was the only website I could find that shows the full movie.

I also went to the library and researched a book on the true story of the titanic. 
The book is called 'Lost voices from the Titanic' by Nick Barret
Its a very moving book which en-tales peoples memories, historical background, building the Titanic, when it set out to sea, the first day, the final day and the iceberg including the aftermath of Tragedy. The pictures shown throughout are phenomenal!

The Second Summer Project!

This Project is about using my imagination and creativity in motion.
I bought a book of the Amazon website called 'Imaginary Beings' where I chose a few mythical creatures and included them in a random story. My story is to do with my mythical creatures trying to solve problems a they carry the flaming torch for the Olympics.

This is my first attempt of chinese Dragon as a biro Study!

Here is the chinese dragon in colour with its mystical pearl protecting it as its his most prise possession. The chinese dragon has the power of a fire breathing breath, he is always grumpy and sometimes anti-social but if you get him on a good day he's not so bad!

 This is the Banshee Fairy made of celtic blood and is the barer of bad news yet she is lovely fairy whom likes to bake cakes and fly.

This is a creature who lives in the secret woodland forest she is called coleen she is a very heartwarming creature whom is kind and plays like a mother role to the other creatures of the forest. Throughout this image she is taking part in a very important event, which many mythical creatures like to take part in. This event is the Olympics and to start this event off the creatures will participate in carrying the flaming torch throughout the forest.

 

This is how I feel what the Trees look like, to create the bushy effect for the leaves I used a sponge and dipped it in green water colour paints to form this sprinkle effect.
